My Little Rotter

Pitch Overview

Imagine a world where nurturing doesn’t mean keeping something alive, it means keeping it undead. My project is a twist on the classic Tamagotchi life sim genre, but instead of a cute virtual pet, you’re taking care of a shambling, needy zombie. To Maintain your pet’s delicate balance of unlife, meet its bizarre needs while avoiding a full-on zombie apocalypse. This is a quirky dark humour take on the traditional virtual pet genre.

Core Gameplay Loop

At its heart, the game will revolve around managing the zombie’s needs, much like traditional Tamagotchi games, but with a grotesque twist:

  1. Zombie Needs: Instead of basic needs like food, sleep, and happiness, you’ll be managing needs such as:

    • Brains (Hunger): Feed your zombie fresh or “questionable” brains to keep its energy levels up. Be careful—if it gets too hungry, it might try to eat you.

    • Mood (Aggression Control): Keep your zombie calm by providing entertainment (like gnawing on old bones or smashing things). A stressed-out zombie can become uncontrollable.

    • Socialization (Zombie Friends): Zombies are social creatures in their own way. Introduce your pet to other zombies for strange interactions or even group activities.

  2. Customization: Players can dress up their zombie, add accessories like hats, and modify its appearance (e.g., swapping out limbs for mechanical parts or other zombie bits).

  3. Progression: Over time, the player can unlock new environments (e.g., a graveyard, abandoned mall) and unique zombie types (e.g., fast zombies, intelligent ones) to keep gameplay fresh and engaging.
